The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund invests primarily in equity securities of United States issuers and securities whose principal markets are in the United States, including American Depositary Receipts and other United States registered foreign securities. It invests primarily in common stocks of companies with a market capitalization greater than $1 billion at the time of purchase. The fund may invest up to 15% of its total assets, at the time of purchase, in securities of issuers domiciled outside the United States and not included in the S&P 500 Index.
